Will Apple Dominate The Smartphone Market?

The iPhone 7 May Be Out Soon

In a recent article on 9-to-5 Mac, they report that Apple is in negotiations with Samsung to help develop its flash memory for the next generation iPhones.  What this means is that Apple is looking to increase its iPhone memory, while dipping even more into Samsung’s market share.

top smartphones

Increased memory will help the next generation of iPhones sync with their laptops, tablets and PC’s much, much easier and more effectively.

Also rumored is that the new line of iPhones may be called the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 7 – a next generation, faster smartphone that may be the thinnest smartphone yet.  In addition to increased memory the next generation iPhone may do away with the home button.

The reason for this would be to make a much more solid device and improve security.  They are in the development stage of using a large force touch surface that would be responsive to the pressure of the touch.  By increasing the surface area that operates the phone, you’d be able to open and run your Apps like fingerprint or Apple pay much easier.

Another rumored addition that Apple is working into their next generation iPhones is retina id.  This would double the security of your iPhone making it virtually impossible to steal.

Technology should be an asset, a tool to help you become more productive and efficient.  The best smartphone on the market should be a major technological upgrade from your previous phone.  For example, fire was a great discovery, learning how to use a stick and create friction was an awesome technological improvement for our ancestors.  But a lighter? And for world-changing technology, you should expect to pay an enormous price.

The Best Technology Isn’t Free

But to get a great tool, you need to pay for it.  A car like a Lexus doesn’t come cheap, you have to pay for the technological excellence and comfort that comes with it.  If you wanted to pay less, you could save money by buying a used car or one on sale, but remember that you’ll get what you pay for.

From TechRadar, PCmag and others, we’ve found that there have not been many resources released to help you with smartphone photography. Other than the App stores, there isn’t much to find that helps guide your photography skills in any solid way.

They offer an incredible suite of Apps in every new phone, they have a perfect mix of technology and operating systems, and most important, their smartphone camera technology is top-notch.

In a recent article on MacWorld UK, they discuss the rumors of a new iPhone 7 possible release dates. If that happens, that’s real news! But until that happens, we’re more focused on improving how we use our existing phones and increasing productivity.

One area that everyone should look to improve upon is their smartphone photography skill. But before you spend a ton of money to get online photography tips, or buy an expensive tutorial, you need to find a great resource that doesn’t cost too much.

The Best Smartphone 2014 May Already Be Obsolete

When is enough, enough?  Sometimes upgrading may only be a partial improvement over what already exists.  And with the releases of the best smartphones 2014, what we can expect in 2015 are mild upgrades and updates. If you’ve been looking, or will be looking for any best smartphone on the market, below we offer a few suggestions to assist you.

Don’t be fooled.  Most of the new releases this year will be just minor improvements, half-steps in technology.  They will be little adjustments, Apps and gadgets that try to pry you from your money.  Look at all the previous smartphone releases and you can see the pattern clearly.

That doesn’t mean that the releases won’t be the best new smartphones available, especially if you were under contract with your previous phone during the mass release in 2014.  What that means is that once you’re free to find a new phone, you can choose the newest ones or you could consider picking up the older version of a phone at a reduced price.  For example, Apple is thought to have the iPhone 6s in the works for possible release.  The idea is the release would be sometime late 2015 or 2016.  If they do add a 6s to their brand, their mode during these releases has been to lower prices on existing stock.

If you’re looking for an existing model from all the released best smartphones 2014, you can find a number of RESOURCES to help you.  There are online retailers like Amazon and Alibaba that offer all the best new smartphones available at all types of price ranges. These aren’t the only only retailers, obviously, but they are the most trusted and carry the largest inventory.

Another option to consider is to get your phone through a service provider.  For example, Verizon and AT&T offer all the best new smartphones through their stores and offers a number of flexible data plans to assist you in finding the best deal. If you don’t want to be locked into a specific data-rate plan, Cricket, Boost Mobile and Sprint offer more flexible options for any best smartphone on the market.

Last, you can save money by reselling your older model phone and get credits toward the purchase of a new one.  Apple has a trade-in program that allows you to sell your older iPhone back to them and they will give you credit toward the purchase of their newer iPhone models.  This can be a great strategy to get a new phone once you’re free of your current data plan.  This path is not limited to Apple and a simple Google search will help you discover some great other options.

With the wave of recent phones that were released at the end of the year, how to find a deal on the best smartphone on the market can be tricky.  If you want the best smartphone 2014, if you can wait until the releases that are sure to come in 2015, you’ll find an amazing deal.

As we asked, when is enough, enough? Just because there are upgrades and new releases doesn’t mean that those releases are actually better.  Often times they are mere half-steps from an existing model.  And with 2015 upon us, we can expect that all the best new smartphones that were just released will have minor improvements over the existing models.  And if you don’t get caught in the hype and hoopla, you can find an amazing deal on the recently released new phones.

Can You Find The Best Smartphone On The Market?

Having written about all the latest smartphone news, we’ve covered topics as varied as what are the best new smartphones; we’ve ranked the best smartphone camera, and provided tips and deals on all the top smartphones. Our interest is providing you with everything we can find to help you get the best smartphone on the market at a price you want.

To help you out, we use three main criteria: Cost, Hardware and Software.

For starters, we recommend you look at the cost for a new smartphone. Our next suggestion is to look at the physical material that makes the phone, and as an added bonus, you should factor which smartphone has the best camera to assist your evaluation as well. Finally, you should explore the software and Operating System that will make your phone perform.

What does that all mean for you? In evaluations, there are two main degrees: Objective and Subjective. Our opinion is subjective but we try to focus on the objective strengths about our product review.

Understand that in any evaluation there are objective points and subjective points to consider. The objective points to consider are things like the screen size compared to other phones. Subjective points are things like the software and user preference. For example, the 100 Meter sprint in track and field is an outcome determined upon an objective scale. You have a winner and a loser. There is a time standard that cannot be skewed or evaluated other than fastest time wins.

Subjective evaluations have more biases involved and these evaluations are like diving competitions. They are judged upon their technical merit and aesthetics multiplied by a degree of difficulty to come to a standard score. The judges will gauge as much about the performance as they do with technique. In other words, it’s what the judges like about the performance as much as the performance itself.

For determining the best smartphone on the market, you need to evaluate the objective and subjective equally. While I may enjoy diving, you may be all about track and field.

You can agree or disagree with us, and that’s our point. Subjectivity is determined by factors and variability. As Shakespeare is known to have written, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We’re providing an evaluation that is subjective, but one that also focuses upon the objective to help you decide if you agree with us or not.

Cost: An unlocked phone gives you the freedom to move around between various service providers, but for an unlocked phone you’re going to pay more. A standard two-year contract will get you one of the best new smartphones at a subsidized price, but at the cost of being locked into a data plan and with one cell phone service provider.

In essence, spend more for flexibility, sign a contract and be locked into one data plan but get a huge price break on a new phone.

Hardware: You need to think of this as the body, the flesh and bones for your new phone. If you prefer larger screens than you’re living in the golden age of smartphones. One thing to consider is the type of casing for your phone. Are you ok with dimpled plastic cases that stick in your hand, than the Samsung Galaxy is a perfect one for you. Or do you like the sleek aluminum shell that comes with all of Apple’s phones? There’re so many outstanding phones available that to name one the best smartphone on the market right now is a subjective call.

An added bonus that you should give some consideration for is the smartphone camera. Previously we’ve seen them reviewed and decided upon the best smartphone camera is with Apple.

(read here to see why)

Software: Just as the Hardware is the body of your new smartphone, the software is the brain that makes it go. Android is a great platform and marketplace for all their Apps, while Apple has their software system integrate seamlessly with other Apple devices. If you’re into a specific brand like Apple, then getting a smartphone that integrates smoothly like with Apple makes sense. If you don’t need a lot of interaction between devices and want access to the world’s largest App marketplace, then Android is the best option for you.

Like most things in life, there’s some subjectivity to deciding the best smartphone on the market right now. In the end, your decision about the best of the best is all about preference.

For price, design, and utility we call the iPhone 6 the best smartphone on the market right now.

What are your thoughts?  Do you agree?
